[Movies] Director Hired For Short Circuit Remake
Posted by Larry Csonka on 10.27.2009

According to Variety, Steve Carr (Daddy Day Care, Doctor Dolittle 2 and Paul Blart: Mall Cop) has been hired to direct the remake of Short Circuit. Dan Milano (Robot Chicken) wrote the script for the film, which will see Johnny 5, built to be a weapon, develop a conscience and befriends a lonely boy after being struck by lightening.

Now all we need is a white guy to play the Indian dude.

Wait wait wait...a lonely BOY?! WTF!

No Stephanie nice software? No Roboerotica? Instead, it's gonna be a crappy, pseudo-Iron Giant?

I was kinda digging a remake until THAT plot point...

Couldn't they hire a better director?

I loved Short Circuit as a kid and this guy's track record does not bode well.

OK, all we need now is a remake of Midnight Madness. Then, every movie in the past 75 years will have been remade.

And, the Midnight Madness remake could be awesome, what with cell phones, net access and so forth now days.

What's the fucking point???? Short Circuit was a success based upon Johnny 5!! Not the plot line or director or acting revolutionary Steve Guttenburg! You can't remake what made Johnny 5 so lovable, so what's the fucking point Hollywood?!?!

What's next? A fucking Howard the Duck remake? This isn't Batman. It's not some legendary franchise that needed a "reboot." Figure out a new story already!

I demand Steve Gutenberg be in this movie.

Why can't Hollywood make up brand new shit of their own to fuck up with their crappy plots.

Seriously, there aren't any new ideas these days. Everything that comes out of Hollywood is a remake of an older movie or based on a book. Make your own fucking shit. Take a chance!!!!!
